Linlithgow lass plays bagpipes for her local community during lockdown

A schoolgirl from West Lothian has been playing the bagpipes to keep her neighbourhood entertained during lockdown.Christie Mcnab from Linlithgow played the bagpipes in her garden for 66 consecutive days and brought her performances to an end on Thursday May 28 to coincide with the final Clap for Carers.

The talented 16-year-old from Linlithgow Academy, who also plays the harp and piano, has been playing the pipes since she was 10-years-old and her great grandfather was a renowned piper from the Highlands.Alongside her dad, Fergus, she decided to do her own bit for the local area during the pandemic.Fergus explained: “We had discussed the idea between the two of us and Christie just wanted to do something to keep people’s spirits up in our
