Lea Michele Kicks Off 'Life in Music' Tour, Tells Touching Story Behind the One 'Glee' Episode She's Never Watched

Lea Michele has kicked off her Life in Music tour! The 35-year-old actress is performing six shows at City Winery locations this summer ahead of her highly-anticipated return to Broadway in Funny Girl. Lea performed her first show of the tour on Wednesday night (July 20) at the City Winery location in Washington, D.C.

and fans are raving about the show. Throughout the evening, she performed the songs that have been monumental to her career, including music from Broadway shows like Spring Awakening and Les Miserables, her songs from Glee, and her original albums.

The set list included “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables, “Mama Who Bore Me” from Spring Awakening, her original song “Cannonball,” “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “Sweet Child of Mine” from her new lullaby album Forever, and Glee covers including “Poker Face,” “Glitter in the Air,” and “Make You Feel My Love.” Lea ended the night with her rendition of “My Man” from the movie Funny Girl.

The song is not featured in the Broadway show, which she noted on stage. “Because I won’t get to do it every night on Broadway, I want to sing it for you all tonight… Here’s a little bit of Fanny Brice and I will see you on September 6,” she told the crowd.
