Richard Hanson, 35, absconded from HMP Thorn Cross in Cheshire on Friday (August 27), where he is currently serving a life sentence for the manslaughter of Gemma Roberts.

Hanson, who previously described himself as a 'walking time bomb,' fatally stabbed the 18-year-old student with a broken bottle near a pub in West Yorkshire in 2006.
