Kenzo Takada has died at the age of 81 after contracting coronavirus.The founder of the global Kenzo brand died at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, on Sunday, his family said in a statement to French media.Takada was born in Japan but moved to Paris in 1964, where he began his fashion career.He launched Kenzo in 1970, which was was later purchased by luxury conglomerate LVMH in 1993.Takada retired from the company in 1999 to pursue a career in art.The company's current designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista unveiled Kenzo's spring-summer 2020 line to fashion editors on Wednesday.Takada was born on February 27, 1939, in Himeji, in the Hyogo Prefecture in Japan to hoteliers, but his love of fashion began after reading his.
