Loose Women presenter Kéllé Bryan has looked back on being encouraged to lose weight while in the band Eternal after Kim Kardashian revealed she lost weight to fit into her Met Gala gown.
Last night, Kim was one of the many A-listers who descended upon the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for the fashion spectacle of the year, the theme for which was Gilded Glamour.
The entrepreneur, 41, donned the exact dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in 1962 when she sang Happy Birthday to President John F Kennedy, explaining that the garment couldn’t be altered at all to fit her. ‘I tried it on and it didn’t fit me.
I had to lose 16lbs to be able to fit this. It was such a challenge, it was like a role,’ she said at the event, adding: ‘I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict. ’On Tuesday’s edition of Loose Women, Ruth Langsford, Katie Piper, Carol McGiffin and Kéllé addressed Kim’s admission, with Kéllé recalling the pressure she was under to be a certain size when she was in the 1990s girl group.
