Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.
Kate Middleton and Prince William were seen sharing a joke together while arriving for the 2022 Order of the Garter Service held at St.
George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on Monday (June 13) in Windsor, England. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were seen in the rare moment just following the service inside the chapel before a reception brunch. Princes Charles and Edward, as well as their spouses, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and their sister, Princess Anne, were also seen at the event.
The Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain, established by King Edward III nearly 700 years ago.
For this year’s service, the Duchess of Cornwall, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and former leader of the British House of Lords Baroness Amos were all inducted into the Order.
