Josh Taylor says he can't wait to fight Jack Catterall in 2024...and give his critics 'the middle finger' by putting his rival down convincingly.Taylor beat Catterall by split decision at the Hydro in 2022 but it was one of the most controversial bouts in recent memory with many feeling Taylor hadn't merited it.
It's a cloud that has hung over his head ever since and his only fight since that one, nearly two years ago, was his first professional defeat to Teofimo Lopez last summer where he lost his light-welterweight titles.Since then it's been a quiet six months for the Tartan Tornado but he's ready to come roaring back in 2024.
He told the Daily Mail: "(Catterall) doesn't make me who I am. I had a bad performance and I'm wanting to rectify the bad performance and all the criticism I've had.
So that's what I want to do... 100 per cent it has given me the boot up the backside I needed. And, yes, it's going to help me give the middle finger to a lot of people, when I give him a good beat down the next time, so I can't wait."When could the anticipated rematch come?
