Janelle Monáe is taking on the 2020 election with her new song "Turntables." The soulful cut of protest rap appears in the upcoming voter suppression documentary All In: The Fight For Democracy.
The film is directed by Liz Garbus and Lisa Cortés and features former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. It's available to watch September 18 on Amazon Prime.
Monáe described the intention behind "Turntables" in an interview with Apple Music: "This song is capturing direction. And when you think about a record, when you think about a record spinning, when you think about the revolutions per minute, it's all connected.
