James Sands seals Rangers transfer as American pens 18 month loan deal

Rangers have confirmed the loan signing of American international James Sands. He arrives as Gio van Bronckhorst 's first signing as Ibrox boss and signs on an 18-month loan from New York City FC.

News broke of Rangers ' interest in Sands last week and on Tuesday morning it emerged that things had taken a significant step forward.

Sands, a seven-time USA cap and a key part of Ronny Deila's NYCFC team, comes highly-rated in the States. And now he'll get the chance to prove himself in the Scottish Premiership as the champions have made him their first signing of the window.
