Jamal Edwards' cause of death has been confirmed as a heart attack after taking recreational drugs, the late star's "shocked" mum Brenda has confirmed.

Music pioneer Jamal tragically passed away at age of 31 following a "sudden illness" in February this year. An inquest into the SB:TV founder's passing took place on Tuesday 7 June.

Following the inquest, Brenda shared a statement on her social media pages to share her sadness as she confirmed Jamal's cause of death.

She began: "Firstly, I wanted to thank each and every one who has reached out, sent messages and been there for me and my family since Jamal passed away in February.
