The Met Office has issued its first ever Red warning for 'exceptional heat' in the UK as temperatures are forecast to soar to as high as 40 degrees.
The extreme weather conditions will affect a large part of England on Monday and Tuesday as its expected that the country will have the hottest day we've ever had on record.

"Lots of people will put their pyjamas or their bedsheets in the freezer and then put them on at night to keep them cool," Dr Khan told Lorraine Kelly "Yes, it will give you that immediate cooling effect, which is good for a lot of people.
