Irish cinema chain considering ‘vaccine only’ screenings

With the end in sight, lots of people are getting excited about revisiting their old favourite pursuits. Cinephiles rejoice because Omniplex are considering ‘vaccine only’ cinema screenings, if covid restrictions are reduced next month.

Speaking to the Irish Times, Omniplex Director Mark Anderson explained their proposal. He suggested the cinema could offer a separate screening, without viewers needing to social distance if they can prove that they’ve had the jab.

The special dispensation would mean cinema screenings, ‘without customers needing to stay two metres apart.’ The theatres would, however, also provide a suitably socially distanced screenings for those who hadn’t had the jab. ‘We have worked hard to ensure our cinema auditoriums
