in Salford has been opened. John Hughes was killed in a crash on Bolton Road in Pendlebury on Sunday (July 12). The 42-year-old was a passenger in car when it collided with an oncoming vehicle.Both men were seriously injured.
Tragically, Mr Hughes, a taxi driver from Swinton, died as a result of his injuries. Coroner Catherine Cundy opened the inquest into his death at Bolton Coroners' Court this afternoon (Thursady).The inquest has been adjourned until October 16.Tributes have been paid to Mr Hughes and Thomas Ashley, who was driving the Renault Megane at the time of the crash, just before 7am.Mr Hughes and Mr Ashley are believed to have been friends.
