Historic Manchester United FA Cup tie being replayed to raise NHS funds

Eighth tier Workington AFC will virtually replay the most famous match in their history - against Manchester United - later this month while raising funds for NHS charities.

With all football still suspended as the country deals with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the Cumbria club - known as Workington Reds - have decided to recreate their historic 1958 clash against United's Busby Babes online.

The original tie was an FA Cup third round tie on 4th January 1958 and featured United legends Bobby Charlton, Harry Gregg and Duncan Edwards, coming just a month before the tragic Munich Air Disaster which decimated Sir Matt Busby's famous side.
