Peter White Television EditorHBO is exploring the return of therapist drama In Treatment.The Warnermedia-backed cable network is considering a reboot of the series, which ran for three seasons and over 100 episodes, ending in 2010.The move, first broken by Deadline sister publication TV Line, could see In Treatment filmed under COVID-19 production protocols, given that it is relatively pandemic-proof, featuring two characters talking at a socially distanced degree.The series is based on an Israeli format, Be Tipul, created by The Affair’s Hagai Levi.
The U.S. version, which was produced and developed by Rodrigo Garcia, starred Gabriel Byrne as psychotherapist Paul Weston, speaking to his clients as well as his own therapist.
