Greater Manchester set to bask in week-long heatwave as temperatures soar to 24C

This weekend's glorious weather is set to continue throughout the next couple of weeks with temperatures soaring to 24C. In the last couple of days, people have descended on parks and other beauty spots, while shoppers also made the most of sun-kissed Piccadilly Gardens.

Although there are set to be some rainy spells in the coming days, Mancunians can still expect warm weather for the most part.

Tomorrow (Monday May 9) will see highs of 18C but there is an 80pc chance of rain in the evening. Throughout the week, 9C is the lowest temperature expected. By next Sunday (May 15) the mercury is set to reach 21C, with highs of 24C expected two days later. The heatwave is set to last for the whole week, according to weather experts.
