A £1 billion fund will be used to help children in England 'catch-up' on learning lost to the Covid-19 pandemic, the government announced today.The Prime Minister said the most disadvantaged children would have access to tutors through a £350 million 'National Tutoring Programme'.The fund will cover the 2020/21 academic year and aims to prevent the attainment gap from widening further, the government said.Separately, a further £650 million will be shared across all state primary and secondary schools over the academic year to help all children who have lost out on teaching time.Head teachers will decide how the money is spent, but the government said it expects the funding to be used for small group tuition for whoever needs it.The.
