"Ocean Eyes" was written and produced by her brother Finneas, with whom she collaborates on music and live shows. Glastonbury Festival, a number of artists have seen an uplift on the UK’s Official Albums Chart this week.According to new Official Charts Company data, artists including Billie Eilish, Sam Fender, Diana Ross and Wet Leg have seen a boost in their sales and streams after their Glastonbury sets.Billie Eilish, who became the festival’s youngest-ever headliner on Friday (June 24), has enjoyed a jump in this week’s Official Albums Chart Top 40. Her last album ‘Happier Than Ever’ had an 84 per cent week-on-week boost to its combined weekly sales and streams in total, placing it on Number 10.Previous album, 2019’s ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’, is also up by 36 spots to Number 25, while Eilish’s debut ‘Don’t Smile At Me’ makes it to Number 39.Elsewhere, Sam Fender’s ‘Seventeen Going Under’ doubles its weekly sales and streams tally, surging 110 per cent week on week while enjoying a jump of 44 chart places back into the Official Albums Chart Top 20 (19). The album’s title tack has also risen 40 places to Number 20.Wet Leg’s sales and streams of their eponymous debut album are up 71 per cent over the past seven days, while Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘SOUR’ enjoys a 30 per cent weekly boost and Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘Mr.

Steve Coogan has quoted Alan Partridge‘s famous Beatles line from his TV series while watching Paul McCartney at Glastonbury.The music legend headlined the second night of the festival over the weekend, which saw him duet with Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen, as well as a virtual John Lennon.The BBC was in the crowd and managed to catch up with Coogan, who referenced a line in I’m Alan Partridge where the character is asked about his favourite Beatles album.“Alan Partridge was asked, ‘What’s your favourite Beatles album?’ And he said, ‘Errr, that’s a tough question… I think I would have to say ‘The Best of the Beatles’,” Coogan quipped.The scene in the series also saw Partridge say a memorable line declaring that McCartney’s group Wings “were only the band The Beatles could have been”.During his BBC interview, Coogan went on to argue: “The Rolling Stones have only ever written about eight brilliant songs, whereas The Beatles have done about 50.”After McCartney finished his set, the actor was asked for his snap verdict, admitting: “I don’t know what to say, it’s quite overwhelming. I don’t think there’s anyone else in the world who can give such unadulterated joy to people.

Courteeners, English Teacher and Louis Tomlinson were among the acts to be honoured at the first-ever Northern Music Awards.The inaugural ceremony – hosted by the UK’s largest music therapy charity, Nordoff And Robbins – took place at the Albert Hall in Manchester last night (April 23) to celebrate northern artists, festivals, venues and industry figures.Presented by BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Chris Hawkins, the event featured live performances from Courteeners frontman Liam Fray, as well as English Teacher, Lisa Stansfield, The K’s and more.Guest presenters from the region included former Manchester United footballer Gary Neville, New Order‘s Gillian Gilbert and Stephen Norris, and Grimsby-born actor Thomas Turgoose (This Is England). ‌ Neville awarded Courteeners with the Band Of The Year prize.
