Glasgow shop 'attack' suspects in court charged with ‘racially-aggravated’ incident

appeared in court charged with behaving in a racially-aggravated manner during an attack in a Glasgow shop. Emergency services were called to the scene on Leithland Road at around 9.05pm on Sunday August 1 following reports of an assault.

The injured man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and released a short time later. The suspects were traced to a nearby property on Kempsthorn Place and subsequently arrested after police negotiators were drafted in.The two men appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday where they faced a host of charges.Joseph Ewing, 26, is accused of being in possession of an offensive weapon, assault to injury, two further assaults, behaving in a racially-aggravated manner.
