Glasgow City Council rakes in £5.4m from parking fines - and one street is the worst

Glasgow City Council is issuing 104,938 parking fines every year and collecting more than £5.4million in tickets. Scotland’s largest local authority raked in more than £5.48million in revenue over a 12-month period, issuing parking fines worth an average of £52.27.

The comparison website also named Wellington Street as the top parking fine hotspot in Glasgow. The eye-watering scale of parking fine revenues has been revealed by Compare The Market after it issued Freedom of Information requests to local authorities across the UK in August 2020, of which 204 responded with figures.
