Gary Neville has taken the chance to call out the owners of Manchester United and Manchester City following the controversy surrounding Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
Abramovich announced on Saturday that he had passed 'care and stewardship' of the club to Chelsea's charitable foundation. The announcement has left many wondering just what the implications of the move will be, a subject Neville was asked to address as part of Sky Sports' Super Sunday coverage.
After criticising Abramovich's statement, Neville took the opportunity to lambast the owners of the 'big six clubs' - Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur - claiming they're guilty of trying to 'con' supporters. "These owners of the top six clubs are insulated from reality," the former United captain said. "They think that they can put a smart PR team around them and con us with fancy words but, unfortunately, it does not work."
