summer holidays don't come cheap, so for many, trips out aren't always affordable.That's why these places are proving so popular - because they don't have to cost you a penny.Our Manchester Family has been taking a look at three farms that families can visit for free.The little known Applecast is on the outskirts of Wigan and there are loads of animals for families to see and feed.The venue is home to goats, pigs, sheep, horses, alpacas and a whole lot more.

There are smaller ones too, including rabbits and guinea pigs, and there are owls and other birds including some baby rheas, which you might confuse with ostriches.You can pay for experiences, such as £2 for owl holding, or £7 for a photo to take home.It opens every day from 10am until.
