Former Manchester United player Marouane Fellaini has tested positive for coronavirus, according to a local health department in China.

The Belgian midfielder is currently playing for Shandong Luneng in the Chinese Super League (CSL), and is the first player from the league to test positive from coronavirus.

Like the majority of leagues around the world, the CSL is suspended indefinitely as the coronavirus pandemic continues. The 32-year-old former United player arrived in the Chinese province of Jinan by train on March 20 when the positive test was taken.

Fellaini moved to Shandong in 2019 and enjoyed a successful first season with the club as he scored 13 goals in all competitions as his side finished fifth in the league.
