Hospital staff caring for a baby boy who died after he caught a virus could have raised his deteriorating condition with senior doctors sooner and the cardiac arrest he suffered may have been avoided, an inquest has heard.

Little Henry Kenworthy was just 18 months old when his life suddenly came to an end, days after he caught chest infection bronchiolitis and was admitted to Wythenshawe hospital, on March 3, 2019.

During his time in hospital, his condition 'spiralled' and he died two days later, on March 5. An inquest into his death has now heard how some of the actions of the hospital staff were delayed - and how the cardiac arrest he suffered may have been preventable.

The inquest into the death of the 'happy and joyful' youngster continued for another day at Manchester Coroner's Court today.
