Family and colleagues pay tributes to former headteacher and much loved 'family man'

A popular Bury headteacher and father-of-three has died following a prolonged illness. Frank Bennett, the former head of Woodhey High School, died last Thursday (May 28), aged 82.

Mr Bennett's wife Kay, who is also mother to their three children, led the tributes to him. She said: "He was a true family man, full of life and very caring to everyone. "He was really intellectual but also had another side to him which was very loving, down-to-earth and supportive.
