For the first time in the event’s history, the Eurovision Song Contest has been canceled. The 2020 edition of the annual contest was scheduled to kick off May 12 in Rotterdam, Netherlands but was canceled due to concerns over the spread of coronavirus.
A statement reads, “We are very proud that the Eurovision Song Contest has united audiences every year, without interruption, for the past 64 years and we, like the millions of fans around the world, are extremely saddened that it can not take place in May.” Read the full statement, along with a detailed FAQ, at the Eurovision website.
