Emmerdale fans think they have worked out a sinister twist involving Rhona Goskirk's mother Mary on the ITV soap. Only recently, Mary, played by EastEnders star Louise Jameson, "burst onto the scene" and has already ruffled feathers in the village.

Soap fans have been desperate to know more information about Rhona's mum Mary and some viewers think they have figured out the character's true reason for being in the village.

Only recently, Pierce Harris ' son Marcus Dean told Rhona that his late father had left her a large amount of money in his will as she refused to touch a penny of it.

Taking to Twitter, soap fans predicted that Mary could be after Rhona's cash, with one fan predicting: "I wonder if Mary is after Rhona's money? #Emmerdale." To which a different account pointed out: "It's possible that Mary is after Rhona's money, but it's also possible that she just wants to be friends." While another soap watcher questioned of Mary: "I take it Rhona’s mum has lost everything and has nowhere to go #Emmerdale." It comes after the hit ITV soap teased: "No nonsense Mary has a strained relationship with her daughter who has always felt she was never good enough for her mother. "Though Mary will prove a hit with everyone she meets in the village, will she be able to repair her broken relationship with Rhona?
