East Kilbride MSP backs heart charities defibrillator network campaign

East Kilbride MSP Collette Stevenson is urging defibrillator owners in the town to register their devices on The Circuit – a national database which aims to map all public access defibrillators.

In doing so, if someone has a cardiac arrest, 999 call handlers can direct bystanders to their nearest registered defibrillator to use while they wait for emergency services to arrive.

In the UK there are more than 30,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests every year, but fewer than one in 10 survive.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
