Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). HMRC has announced changes to payment dates for Child Benefit and Tax Credits and DWP confirmed similar amendments for those receiving benefits including Universal Credit, State Pension, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Jobseeker's Allownace, Attendance Allowance and Carer's Allowance.

The first bank holiday is on Monday, May 3 and the second is on Monday, May 31, meaning payments due to drop into accounts on those dates will be made on the last working day before each one instead.DWP said: "Payment dates have been brought forward.
