The AA has expressed concerns amid new Highway Code rules expected to come into force from next month. A new ‘Hierarchy of Road Users’ is set to be established as part of the Highway Code from January 29 - subject to parliamentary approval.
The new rules mean that drivers and cyclists will have to give way to pedestrians that are waiting to cross the road into a junction they are turning into, Manchester Evening News reports.
Motorists must also give way to pedestrians and cyclists on a parallel crossing.Cyclists will also be required to move into the centre of the lane when approaching junctions and on quiet roads.There will also be new rules on the distance and speed drivers should travel at when passing cyclists and horse riders on
