Driver, 90, rescued after car crashes into the River Forth in Stirling

Stirling Observer it appeared that the vehicle had ploughed through a fence onto the grass river embankment near Queen’s Haugh Drive by Riverside Bowling Club.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Scottish Ambulance Service and Police Scotland arrived at the scene following the incident which occurred around 11.30am.Police confirmed the driver was rescued from the water and taken to hospital.A resident said: “The whole area has been taped off.

There is quite a presence of emergency vehicles. A section of metal railing about 15ft has been damaged.“You can see the tyre tracks on the grass embankment.”The driver is thought to have been the only occupant of the vehicle.Following the rescue, the car could be seen in the river almost totally.
