Dr Alex George opens up about harsh treatment that caused his skin redness on Love Island – after trolls bullied him over 'sunburned' look

Dr Alex George, who found fame in 2018’s Love Island series, has just opened up about his near-20 year battle with acne, and how the skin condition used to leave him in tears.

He also reveals that it was a “strong acne treatment” that caused his sometimes red and “sunburned” looking appearance on-camera – something he was unfairly trolled over while the show aired. “When I went on Love Island, the reason my skin went really red was because I was on a strong acne treatment that makes skin very sensitive to the sun.

I felt almost ashamed of my skin, and that’s really sad,” he says in a new Instagram video, marked as in partnership with skincare brand La Roche-Posay.
