Distressing moment tram passenger is 'thrown off' platform onto tracks in shocking attack

Shocking footage has emerged which appears to show the moment a man was 'thrown off' a tram platform in Rochdale. The distressing video clip has been shared with the M.E.N by a bystander, who said she saw two 'old men' being assaulted by a group of teenagers as she got off the tram at Newbold on Saturday night.

She claims she saw the first man being punched to the ground before another man was reportedly thrown off the platform a few seconds later. A short time later a second man can be seen falling head first on to the tram tracks and writhing in pain. He can be seen laying on the tram tracks for some time before walking off in the opposite direction to the group of youngsters.

It's not clear if he was injured. The woman first posted the clip on Facebook, saying: "Finish work and get off the tram to this!
