Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson's representatives have accused Disney of making a "direct attack" on her reputation. Disney has called Johansson's lawsuit over Black Widow's streaming release "sad and distressing", as well as dismissing it as having "no merit whatsoever".
Johansson's suit accuses Disney of breaking her contract for her Marvel solo movie by releasing it on Premier Access on Disney+ on the same day as its cinema debut because her salary was tied to its box office.
Now, Johnson's agent Bryan Lourd has come out with another defence of the star, claiming she was acting on behalf of those whose careers could be impacted by studios unilaterally changing release plans.
