Manchester City and Spain defender Aymeric Laporte has said he is excited for a "special meeting" with France in the Nations League final on Sunday.
Laporte was born in France and represented Les Bleus at youth level. However, while he was occasionally called up for the senior side, he never represented them.
In May this year, it was confirmed that the defender's request for Spanish citizenship was granted and the change of national team was ratified by FIFA.
It means Laporte is now a permanent fixture in the Spain setup, having already made 11 appearances for La Roja. On Sunday, Laporte will be keen to show France and manager Didier Deschamps what they are missing out on, with the City man again set to start at the heart of defence.
