Dick Schafrath was an offensive lineman for the Cleveland Browns, who helped them win the NFL Championship in 1964.Schafrath played college football at Ohio State, where the team won the National Championship in 1957, his junior year, and the Rose Bowl in 1958.
He left Ohio State before graduation to join the Browns, chosen as the second NFL draft pick in 1959. After being drafted, he served in the U.S.
Air Force for two years, during which time he was less active with the Browns. Schafrath went on to become a seven-time Pro Bowl pick and a four-time First Team All-Pro.
He was elected to the Cleveland Browns Legends Club. After his football career, Schafrath briefly coached the Washington Redskins.
