Hearts manager Daniel Stendel has accused his players of lacking fight after they were cut four points adrift at the bottom of the table.
The Jambos had the chance to go level with St Mirren with a victory in Paisley this evening, but Jonathan Obika's goal saw them crash to defeat.
That result means they're four points behind Hamilton in the play-off spot and six away from safety. Stendel told BBC Radio Scotland: "I think it was not a good game for both teams, but St Mirren fought from the first moment and we missed that, especially in the first half. "That's the reason we didn't deserve to get points today."I think you'd need to ask the players (why) because we showed a lot of good fight last week and we showed that we can play better."B
