Captain Steven Naismith has agreed to take a 50 per cent wage cut and vowed to remain at Hearts – regardless of what league they are in next season.

Owner Ann Budge desperately asked for all employees to slash their earnings in half last week, until the games resume, in a bid to ease the club’s cash-flow crisis in the middle of the on-going coronavirus shutdown.

Head coach Daniel Stendel has already agreed to work for free while defender Clevid Dikomana has terminated his contract in a bid to ease the financial burden on the capital club.
