Damian Lewis has shared that he is ‘very proud’ that he and his late wife Helen McCrory were able to raise almost €2 million for the NHS in the UK before her death.
The actress passed away from cancer, a diagnosis she kept hidden from the public. Damian, who is known for his role on Homeland, opened up about their fundraising efforts in a candid podcast chat.
The podcast was originally recorded six weeks before Helen passed away. Helen and Damian led fundraising efforts alongside Matt Lucas to provide hot meals for NHS staff during the COVID-19 crisis and raised €1.75million.
