D.I.C.E. Awards: Indie Game 'Hades' Takes Top Honors

The 24th annual D.I.C.E. Awards, presented by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, took place in a virtual format on Thursday.

Top honors went to rogue-like dungeon crawlerHadesfor game of the year, game direction and game design, as well as best independent game and best action game.

The game is developed and published by San Francisco-based studio Supergiant Games. Naughty Dog's action-adventure The Last of Us Part II, a sequel to 2013's The Last of Us, won two of its 11 nominations: outstanding achievement in story and animation.

Sucker Punch's sweeping open-world samurai epicGhost of Tsushima, which snatched up 10 nods this year, won four awards including best adventure game of the year.
