Coronation Street has pulled out all the stops for its week dubbed 'Super Soap Week' with a terrifying car explosion, sinkhole collapse and gun drama.

But as the drama intensified on the cobbles on Wednesday night viewers flocked to Twitter to complain they couldn't 'hear a word' of a long-awaited showdown between Abi Franklin and her son's killer Corey Brent.

Abi threatened Corey with a gun after they fell through the floor of a House of Horrors and the pair ended up in a Victorian drain below the street.
