Schools are being asked to continue to provide care for a number of children but will close to the majority on Friday.John Swinney, Deputy First Minister and cabinet secretary for Education and Skills, made the promise on Thursday as the UK Government prepared to announce a list of roles considered vital in the battle against coronavirus.
He said: "The Scottish people are key to our efforts in tackling this virus. Throughout the pandemic, we will need to ensure that key workers, for example NHS staff, have provisions in place that allow them to continue to play their vital role in the national response."The
