A cocaine kingpin who was caught transporting drugs on the M6 has been ordered to pay back more than £6m of his ill-gotten gains.

Jamie Simpson was jailed after police swooped on his van as he travelled along the M6, near to Knutsford Services, in Cheshire.

Police discovered 186kg of cocaine, worth £20m, hidden beneath a false floor in a specially adapted van. Simpson, from Warrington, was travelling back to Kent, alongside two associates, on August 2, 2018.

Police believe the cocaine arrived from the continent on a boat, before Simpson and his gang picked it up from the River Medway.
