Chris Rock is speaking out about the infamous incident between him and Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars.
Towards the end of the annual awards show, Will slapped Chris across the face after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s bald head. Will then returned to his seat, yelling at Chris to “keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth.” During a recent set at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey, Chris directly addressed the shocking moment. He later added, “I’m not a victim. Yeah, that s–t hurt, motherf–ker. But I shook that s–t off and went to work the next day.
I don’t go to the hospital for a paper cut.” Chris embarked on a solo comedy tour right after the Oscars, but hadn’t gone into detail about the slap during his shows. “I don’t have a bunch of shit about what happened, so if you came to hear that, I have a whole show I wrote before this weekend,” he said back in March. “I’m still kind of processing what happened.
