The police officer who knelt on George Floyd‘s neck and killed him will face elevated charges by Attorney General Keith Ellison, the Star Tribune reported Wednesday (June 3) amid nationwide protests against systemic racism and police brutality. “According to sources, former officer Derek Chauvin, recorded on video kneeling on Floyd’s neck as he begged for air on May 25, will now be charged with second-degree murder,” the outlet reports.
