Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Celtic Park protest cops charge man in connection with disorder offences ahead of second demo

Celtic Park turned violent last weekend. The 36-year-old was arrested by police as part of their ongoing investigation into the gathering at the Hoops ground on Sunday, November 29.

Furious fans gathered to demand that manager Neil Lennon be sacked after a humiliating 2-0 defeat to Ross County in the League Cup.

Three police officers were injured during the incident which was branded “pretty despicable” by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.The 36-year-old has been released on an undertaking and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.We previously told how a 22-year-old man was also arrested in connection with disorder offences at Parkhead.A senior police officer has warned that any repeats of the scenes will be dealt with.
