Irvine’s Eglinton Country Park and an historic Largs observatory are all in line for huge potential makeovers if cash bids are won.North Ayrshire Council officials are submitting grant applications to the Scottish Government in the hope of landing funding to boost attractions at the sites.There are hopes to refurbish the visitor centre, facilities block and toilets in the historic courtyard at the country park.Beach huts and a new play area are part of £770,000 plans for Ardrossan promenade, which includes developing the former toilet block.It is understood the Ardrossan Community Development Trust is leading the transformation efforts.Meanwhile, the historic Brisbane Observatory in Largs could also be restored.The Ayrshire Live app is.
