CAPTAIN Tom Moore charmed the audience during an appearance with Terry Wogan on quiz show Blankety Blank back in the '80s. The war veteran, who is marking his 100th birthday today, walked away with the famous cheque book and pen after taking part in the Christmas special of the game show in 1983.
BBC Breakfast shared clips from the unearthed episode, which show Captain Tom, then 63, chatting to the host. The national treasure - who has raised an amazing £30million for NHS Charities Together in recent weeks by walking laps of his garden - made Terry and the audience laugh when he said that he was from Tipps End - insisting that it was "a good place".
