Brother and sister collect staggering haul for foodbank with doorstep challenge

A brother and sister collected an incredible 300 items for North Ayrshire Foodbank after dreaming up their own doorstep challenge.Ben and Holly Welsh, of Drybridge, Ayrshire, took it upon themselves to leaflet people in their village asking for donations after they read a foodbank appeal in the paper.And they proved to be very persuasive as residents delved into their cupboards to hand over a range of food.The duo also managed to get family members on board to boost their collection.Now Ben, 14, a pupil of Greenwood Academy and Holly, 10,  who attends Dreghorn Primary, are ready to hand over the lot to the foodbank today.Proud mum Catherine added: "It was their own idea and I think they were a wee bit worried about how much they would get
