Bride-to-be and her sister 'lost their tempers in a violent way' in wedding dress fight with elderly seamstress

A bride-to-be and her sister have appeared in court after attacking an elderly couple in a bizarre fracas over wedding dress material.

Julia Shelley had tasked 79-year-old seamstress Maureen Webb - described in court as a 'family friend' - with making alterations to her wedding dress.

Julia and her younger sister, Jessica, went to Ms Webb's home, from where she ran her business, and went upstairs to her sewing room.

However, a bizarre 'tussle' broke out which left Ms Webb's 'frail' husband badly injured. The sisters have now appeared in court and pleaded guilty to assault.
